Atypical cells (Atyp.C)
Atypical cells are cells with a suspicion of malignancy. Among others, these cells show increased N:C ratio and irregular chromatin patterns. The presence of Atyp.C might indicate the presence of a urothelial carcinoma of the bladder and might support the early detection or surveillance of bladder cancer to reduce the number of cystoscopies – the invasive gold standard in bladder cancer detection.
